Apple Cider Vinegar & your hair

Apple Cider Vinegar & your hair

So you've heard about a vinegar rinse & you're like WTF?

We're just going to go out and say - it's a little different. A little strange perhaps. But is it worth it? We totally think so. Let us tell you why.

We know that vinegar is the best product for neutralising the pH level of 'everything'. It has various benefits for the skin such as removing toxins, smoothing sunburn, eliminating bacteria, is a great anti-fungal and inflammatory solution.

But what exactly can it do for your hair?

After shampooing with a Solibar, you might find your hair is a little squeaky at first. We understand that the transition from ordinary shampoo to a natural shampoo will take time. (Remember you are removing product build up). During this time, your hair might feel oily or dense or even a little too dry. We know that everyone's hair is a little different. If you are feeling a little unsure about the switch to natural haircare, we suggest you try an Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse.

The benefits of using an Apple Cider Vinegar rinse are:
  • helps with frizzy hair and tangles
  • can bring back body and shine to lifeless hair
  • can clarify and stimulate the scalp
  • decrease dandruff and scalp irritation
  • unclog hair follicles and decrease hair loss
  • is naturally conditioning, so decreases the need for conditioner

How much do I use?

Well, this all depends on your hair. The basic rule of thumb is more Apple Cider Vinegar with oily or scalp issues or less if you have dry hair.

We suggest using approximately 1:3 - 1/4 Apple Cider Vinegar to 3/4 cups water. And we recommend rinsing no more than twice a week.

If you still have any questions, or want to discuss your switch to natural haircare 🌱 - please send us a message.
