Are you BLONDE or SILVER? Do you sometimes find your hair turning brassy or losing its shine? Have you considered making the switch to a purple/violet shampoo?
We want to take a moment and dive into the real reasons why silvers and blondes might require a little extra help in keeping their hair light and bright...
When making the switch to natural haircare you might experience a period of an oily, dense or waxy feeling. We, natural fellows, refer to it as the transition phase. It can be quite confronting and make your hair feel unwashed. It's completely normal and it is just a sign of product buildup on your scalp. By doing an acid rinse you will help to restore the pH balance on your scalp and remove prior product buildup, thus helping to transition quicker. It will leave your hair silky smooth and tangle free, it's even so good that you mightn't even require a conditioner. Acid rinses are also a must-do for those of us living with hard water (more alkaline) as they're able to balance the pH by dissolving the magnesium and calcium that binds to your hair from the water.
We love this question because the simple answer is no. But we want to talk to you about why and what makes Solibar so different.
The biggest difference between Solibar and other shampoo options is the lack of sulphates or parabens. Without sulphates, there is going to be no stripping of your natural sebum. Traditional shampoo is designed to strip your hair of moisture, dirt and oil and hence requiring a conditioner to return the moisture post-shampoo.
Instead of being stripped back by sulphates and left to rebuild natural oils after each wash, your hair's natural oils will do the job they're intended to do by nature - to nourish and protect your scalp. Our Solibars just give you a little extra of the good stuff like olive, castor and coconut oil to help to enhance on the natural oils found at your roots.
And now you're going natural, your hair is detoxing and you're feeling different. The good news is, it's completely normal and it will be resolve. But do not give in. If you do you will have to restart the process all over again. Stay strong. Anything that takes time is worth it, we promise.
Regrettably I find Solibar is too harsh for my hair. I purchase it for my hubby who does not mind which variety. He is quite satisfied with the results.
Ian so glad I found you guys on a blog post about the no-shampoo movement. Best shampoos and conditioners without sulfates or other crap. My hair is healthier and shinier than it has ever been ! A+++ is what I grade this.
Been using this bar for a couple of years. Love the way it cleanses gently & face feels so smooth after. Sometimes I even forget to moisturise!!. Thanks Em for this nourishing Face Bar. It really Rocks.
I found that this shampoo stripped my hair to not being able to move it on my scalp, so for me disappointing,
I gave it to my neighbour who has the same white hair, she loves it and her hair looks lovely after being washed
