How to make your own natural DIY dry shampoo.

How to make your own natural DIY dry shampoo.
Put your hand up if you've scored an extra day without washing your hair by just adding a little dry shampoo into your roots?ย
Since their eruption into the haircare market, dry shampoos have been an easy way to stretch out a couple of extra days between washes. They work by helping to dry up excess oil in your roots and giving the appearance of cleaner fresher hair. Why wouldn't we want it?ย ย
But did you know you could make your own? A version that is natural and free from any extra plastic packaging or aerosol cans. #WinWin

Does my shampoo have silicone in it? And how do I get it out?

Does my shampoo have silicone in it? And how do I get it out?

ย

But what do silicones have to do with natural haircare?

We're glad you asked. Having used a product with silicones prior to making the switch to natural haircare can adversely affect the time it takes to transition through to the benefits of natural haircare. The silicone will do its job by repelling moisture and locking you into that deep oily/greasy feeling. To put it simply, natural haircare is not strong enough to remove silicones from your hair and neither is anย acid rinse.ย Natural products can not fight the power of silicone.

Are you BLONDE or SILVER? Do you sometimes find your hair turning brassy or losing its shine? Have you considered making the switch to a purple/violet shampoo?

Q: I can't stand the smell of Apple Cider Vinegar, so what should I use on my hair instead?

Q: I can't stand the smell of Apple Cider Vinegar, so what should I use on my hair instead?
When making the switch to natural haircare you might experience a period of an oily, dense or waxy feeling. We, natural fellows, refer to it as theย transition phase. It can be quite confronting and make your hair feel unwashed. It's completely normal and it is just a sign of product buildup on your scalp. By doing an acid rinse you will help to restore the pH balance on your scalp and remove prior product buildup, thus helping to transition quicker. It will leave your hair silky smooth and tangle free, it's even so good that you mightn't even require a conditioner. Acid rinses are also a must-do for those of us living with hard water (more alkaline) as they're able to balance the pH by dissolving the magnesium and calcium that binds to your hair from the water.ย

Will Solibar's natural solid haircare bars change my hair colour?

Will Solibar's natural solid haircare bars change my hair colour?

We love this question because the simple answer is no. But we want to talk to you about why and what makes Solibar so different.

The biggest difference between Solibar and other shampoo options is the lack of sulphates or parabens. Without sulphates, there is going to be no stripping of your natural sebum. Traditional shampoo is designed to strip your hair of moisture, dirt and oil and hence requiring a conditioner to return the moisture post-shampoo.
